Not drowning but waving…..A poem by Carole Farnan

Advice when drowning:
don’t struggle, wasting precious air
but go with the flow.
Stay afloat,
avoiding the undertow
pulling you into currents of panic.
Treat this as any common woe
until you find yourself once more
in calmer waters approaching, perhaps,
a different shore.
