I Saved a Bee Today. A poem by Eve Redmond

I saved a bee today
The sun was shining
I was in my sanctuary
Reading in my Yarden

I spotted it struggling
On a paving flag
It was on its back
So I rushed inside
To get a tablespoon of water

I gently turned it over
And tilted the spoon
And it began drinking
I could see life restoring,
As I placed it on a flower

Like a miracle it moved
From bloom to bloom
To drink the nectar
A deed so tiny that made me so happy
I wish I could have saved George Floyd
It was the same day
