We’re all in this together. A poem by Karen Mooney

Same storm, same boat.
Accommodation – first class,
lifeboats, entertainment
on upper decks with space,
pools and views.

Served with distinction
by those who step up
from lower decks, working
their passage on this titanic
journey. Returning below
to jostle for space.

Don’t they know their place?

Herded into cabins, fevers
rise, spreading tension,
fuelling dissention,
a need to escape,
so,
they take a chance,
happenstance.

We’re all in this together.
