This Storm. A poem by Saranne Manley

Parties they were fun:
Dancing lasted way past one.
Hugs and kisses were the norm –
To get these back let’s tackle this storm.

At home we will stay,
Let us all hope for a cure and pray.
Let us celebrate our young and old;
Let us distance just as we are told.

This tide – it’s getting higher:
Every day the results are dire.
But one day soon -we don’t know when –
The tide will recede and we will embrace again.

We will celebrate and have fun;
We will dance way past one!
Hugs and kisses again will be the norm
And in the past will be this virus, this storm.
