The Dark Road. A poem by David Robson

It is a dark road we follow
Among the marshes and swamps
That swallow up old and young.
The sun is out though all is dark
On this never-ending road to nowhere

The road made of mud and shit
Grips feet tight, will not let go….
…but do not stay put, pull up and fight
Walk on past the wolves and past the beasts
And walk to the end of the road to somewhere

For all roads lead somewhere
All things end and all things then begin
For the match will light and the sun will shine anew
Day ends with night, as night with day
Night only lasts, till Dawn bursts forth
