Stay Put. A poem by Fin Brennan

Nobody is an expert
Nobody knows everything
Some people know somethingI want to go here
I want to go there
You can’t

Recently, one man became the mother of all mothers
He must tell everyone what they can and can’t do
There is some resistance

The children of the know-it-all’s walk the streets
The children of the scaredy-cats stay at home
It must suck to be a parent

There are one hundred and one things to do
Besides the obvious
Just stay put
We’ll thank ourselves later
