Solace. A poem by Aya Hijazi

I would stray from here till the light broke the nights and the birds began their calls.
But I could no longer seek solace outside these four walls.
I am now confined to this prison you could call my home.
Strangely, i’ve found comfort in being alone.
I met myself and i learned that i like her.
You would too when she is no longer held captive.
She screams for help in the cell that is my head.
I might release her in he world, but until then, she’ll find solace in the promise.

  1. This is exactly what I have been trying to say for long, but actually unlike you, am not a good writer_ nor a good speaker. This has been meant to express myself.. I love you ❤️
