Have bags, will not travel. A poem by Darren Hood

Packed my bag today
On my way
Leaving the land of palms and sand
Hopefully off to another land

Not sure of the final scene
Hoping somewhere green
Swapping turquoise for deep blue
For other things, something new

Skyscrapers and crane
To something more mundane
Still earthly, but with sun?
Or is it heavenly, a spiritual one?

Hills and lochs
Valleys and docks
Forests and trees
Coasts and inky seas

Tickets bought
No second thought
But wait
Someone has closed the gate

It’s ok, just a question of time
The world will be mine
But for the sake of my head
I hid the case under the bed

……….

Dreamlike travels
