Covid. A poem by Michael McFarland

those that never bled
are lying dead
under strange ceilings
together in silence
once they breathed
loved hugged sang
worked read played
now ne’er again
destructor Covid
filled these coffins
mother father brother
sister aunt wife child’s
husband aunt uncle
grannie grandad
homeless stranger too

{penned March 2020}

……………

I am a lover of words, and although a happy person, my pen writes oftimes with sad ink.
