Azure Sea by Michael Killoran Ross

I never thought I would like a place like that
Azure sea and rough rugged coast
Opulence packaged foreign place
People sleeping in hot screaming sun
Blistered respite from another
Damper town or city somewhere else
Could be anywhere but it’s there.
I am here.

Weather brilliant, food great. Hotel lovely. See you when you get home.

Weather fine warm some days
And yes we do have outdoor space. Could be worse. Think
Of single parents families in a high-rise with
Restless children.
Still stuck though. Grounded.
I want to be anywhere but here
Mostly because I can’t
I’d risk sunburn for a moment of flight
