Twenty fifth March: Pandemic. A poem by Claire Cox

There is power in invisibility, we learn,
and in words new to us: the zoonotic leap –the breaking fever, our air ways snared.
Air too tightly shared grows full,

picked up on another lip, unseen,
its novelty shared on an in breath.

Born in Hong Kong, Claire now lives and works in Oxfordshire. She is Associate Editor for ignitionpress, and is currently a part-time practice-based PhD student at Royal Holloway, University of London studying poetry and disaster.
