The Drum Beats On. A poem by Helen Stewart

The drumset drives the pulse, the pace,
From birth, a heartbeat starts to drive,
With snare and cymbals, toms and bass.

New members of the human race,
How good it feels to be alive,
The drumset drives the pulse, the pace.

The metronome we try to chase,
At gathering speed , not all will thrive,
With snare and cymbals, toms and bass.

The rythym starts to syncopate,
The virus trips us as we jive,
The drumset drives the pulse and pace.

A lifestyle change the world must face,
To beat Corona and survive,
With snare and cymbals ,toms and bass.

So now we’re left to track and trace ,
To save the planet we must strive,
The drumset drives the pulse, the pace,
With snare and cymbals, toms and bass.
