Statesmanship: A One-Minute Radio Play by Kathryn Ann Hill

DONALD: Come to my G-7 summit.

ANGELA: No.

DONALD: Why not?

ANGELA: You won’t wear a mask.

DONALD: I will. I will wear a mask.

ANGELA: No, you won’t.

DONALD: I will.

ANGELA: No, you won’t.

DONALD: I will. I will wear a mask. Why don’t you believe me?

ANGELA: You lie all the time.

DONALD: No, I don’t.

ANGELA: You lie sixteen times a day.

DONALD: No, I don’t.

ANGELA: Seventeen.

DONALD: No, I don’t.

ANGELA: Eighteen.

DONALD: No, I don’t.

ANGELA: Nineteen. Bye. (Sound of phone handset being placed firmly into cradle.)

DONALD: (Utters incoherent puerile expletives as dial tone grows louder and louder. Sound of phone crashing against wall.)
