Golden sunlight falls on houses
causing both bright patch and shadow
all on this in a kind of air
more pure than it has been in centuries

….both pain and ease in transparence, clear
test tube panes of window glass
whose disease is phenomenally invisible.

An evil miracle!, should lungs and heart seize up
and choke
burning like the forests
of California!
