Pandemic Headlines. A poem by Rachael Stanley

I sit in my cocoon surrounded
by rows and columns,
black ink staining my latex gloves
as I sit in a fever of
pandemic apprehension.

Who might have handled
this front page?
Who might have dribbled
some corona droplets on
the outside cover?

An interior monologue begins
I’m a product of my time and generation
I tell myself I should get with it
and read the news online.
