LOVE (in a time of pandemic)

Have you heard, have you heard
It’s a big mad crazy world
From the mountain tops to the shuttered shops
You can feel it in the air.

Have you seen have you seen
Àll those places we have been
In the streets of Rome when you’re all alone
And there’s nothing in between.

So gather round gather round
In your homes and virtually
There are lessons learned, good deeds returned
Let me say it more obviously…

There’s love in a time of pandemic
Don’t panic, life goes on
When the balconies sing
And an old friend rings
You can feel it in the people you know.

Love in a time of pandemic
Don’t forget it, life goes on
When you’re up all night and you fear the light
Wait for the healing of birdsong.

So gather round, gather round
In your homes and virtually
When all’s said and done, we’ll hold hands and run
To the welcome of the sun.

There’s love in a time of pandemic
Don’t panic, life goes on
When the balconies sing, and an old friend rings
You can feel it in the afterglow.

When the balconies sing and an old friend rings
You can feel it in the afterglow.
