lockdown eve. A poem by Renos Nicos Spanoudes

from my seat
far table at pavement patisserie
solo

vantage point

see i

a ma(sked)n
walking three huskies by

breathing in
the
s(pray)mells(anitiser)ecure
i sip my espresso duble
take another bite
of my pre midnight treat

croissant le choc

if ever there was a time i needed to talk
to the departed
to my beloveds
to s(pirit)oul
it is now

for i seek comprehension
courage perhaps

even understanding

answers

to why i chose this journey

expressions of hope

desperate
that i
the universe’s universal lessons learn
partake of the offerings on the planet’s table

vulnerahuman
embrace
surrender

one and twenty
maybe more

faithin deep
pray

go

for the earth spins yet
