Is this? by Gill Chedgey

My eyes have become vacant,
Listless, unfocused.
There is nothing to look at,
No one to see.
Is this lockdown blindness? My voice has become raspy,
Croaky, gruff.
There is nothing to be said.
No one to say it to.
Is this lockdown muteness?

My fingers have become stiff,
Arthritic, creaky.
There is no hand to hold,
No one to touch.
Is this lockdown chasteness?

My heart still beats.
Pumping, pulsing, but
there is no one to love,
No one to love me.
Is this lockdown loneliness?
