Holiday Disappointment. A poem by Tess Larkin

Clothes delicately Layed down like Goddesses
Temporary respite granted In preparation for annual holiday
To visit Grandma in Columbia.
Extended excitement labelled
Each garment selected As the little girl uttered
Mamma my case is packed I am ready to go to visit grandma
Mamma my case is beside the door
Mamma I am ready to go on the plane
Mamma my case is full with all my nice dresses
Mamma is Silent
How can I tell a five year old
We are not able to fly
To visit Grandma Because of Covid 19
