Covid19. A poem by Assunta Arrighi Hood

When I think of this virus the whole of me cringes
At the devastation the word impinges
Lifeless bodies of adults and children to be seen
Severed from a life…that should have been

Why so much sorrow and pain in the world today
Utopia futile…so why do we pray?
There must come a time of justice and peace
A perfect solution for this horror to cease

Stay positive and strong and all unite
To defeat this enemy …causing our plight
The time will come when the world will heal
And we can rejoice in an existence that’s real
