Contagious. A poem by Tom Kennedy

Across the silent fields
The twilight creeps
From windowpane to windowpane
It seeps
The evening folds into itself
And sighs
A phantom birdsong heralds
The day’s demise
Strange shadows, shapes, resume
Their ghostly lives
A gibbous moon attends
The haunted skies.
