.. and I’m still procrastinating. A poem by Leanne Geaney

In isolation your mind darts to and fro,
In past
In future
Circulating
Stop. Go
And remember what it what it was like to be a teenager
And what will I add to this pasta, sage or
Thyme
Time
I just need time
Endless amounts of time and still needing more
To get things done
Done
And I wish I could just go sit in the sun
And finally an excuse to go for a run
And about time I can read the books I’ve been meaning to for ages
And it’s too hard to turn all those pages
Too hard, put it down
Too tired, need a lie down
Oh but I mean well
I will do all the things I keep meaning to do
After I lie here for a while
Thinking of all the things I wish I knew
