Lull. A poem by Dick Edelstein

who wants to be stuck herelooking down on the quiet street

while butterflies enjoy the cleaner air

and oblivious trees blossom unperturbed

sun streaming through the front window

conjures with its warmth

thoughts of seasonality, temporality

the discomfort of change

the consolation in continuity

only a few voices down there

echo the public clamor

in harmony and discord

striving to seek advantage

crying to maintain our humanity
