Strange times we are living
Yes, strange times indeed
Yet I haven’t been smoking
Or cooking with weed
Went to sleep happy
With hardly a care
Woke: Quick!! Toilet rolls!!
Shelves suddenly bare
World upside down
Nothing makes sense
Shouting hello (goodbye)
Over the fence
Tube trains still crowded
Forced holidays
Clapping the workers
Shouting their praise
Friends silently dying
Alone in a crowd
Bin liner protection
An ICU shroud
The Earth is still turning
Nature shows she will thrive
I see for the first time
Awake – I’m Alive!
Yet strange times we are living
Yes, strange times indeed
Perhaps I’ll start smoking
Or cooking with weed
