Pandemic Baking. A poem by Annette Brown

Weighing, precise measuring,
Focuses the mind,
Featherlight fingertips,
Through the flour, memories float in.

Flashbacks to the past,
Childhood kitchen, Flour everywhere,
Little helpers,
Fingers in bowls.

Outside the world is closed ,
Silent streets,clock is ticking,
Inside pristine hands,
Sift flour.
Escaping from these covid times.

Primary school teacher, married, who enjoys scribbling in notebooks.
