Lockdown Feelings. A poem by Michaela Burns

Everyone had a different experience
Some similar, but never the same
A mixture of emotions
Sometimes feeling quite lameTaking the good days and the bad
Many lessons learned
Many more to be had
Not sure if we feel happy or sadThe loss of loved ones
Feeling emptiness and guilt
No proper send off
Family and friends missing out

But what do we take from all this
What is there to learn
To appreciate the little things
And be grateful for family and friends

Communities coming together
Helping out one another
Treating people like family
Like a sister or a brother

Positive experiences
And negative ones to be
But you have kept going
And continued to be

So be proud of yourself
Cut yourself some slack
Take a deep breath
And give yourself a pat on the back
